Recently, I successfully upgraded to Windows 11. Everything was fine, until I changed the default Windows account to use my new Microsoft account. They offered me to create Windows Hello PIN, but I didn't input anything and just clicked "Next". The account was changed successfully. However, after restarting my computer, I can't sign in to Windows anymore. I just see the lock screen with my account name on it and the "Sign in" button below. When I click "Sign in", nothing happens, I keep seeing the lock screen and the "Sign in" button. I tried to start the system in the "Safe mode with networking" (F5 key), but it didn't help. Also, I tried other options I found on the internet, but nothing helps. In my opinion, the problem is because of that Windows Hello PIN where I didn't enter any PIN. How to fix this problem? Locked Question. This question was migrated from the Microsoft Support Community. You can vote on whether it's helpful, but you can't add comments or replies or follow the question. Maybe that would help. 0 comments No comments Report Is there a way to enter Windows using different account? Maybe that would help. Anonymous 2023-06-18T17:02:19+00:00 So I clicked "Startup repair", it diagnosed my PC and said that the repair couldn't recover my PC. I can't do steps 5 and 6 because there is no selection of user account (just turn off button and more details button which takes me back to the previous options in Troubleshoot menu). 0 comments No comments Report So I clicked "Startup repair", it diagnosed my PC and said that the repair couldn't recover my PC. Anonymous 2023-06-18T16:52:21+00:00 Thank you for the update. After creating a new user, did you boot in the safe mode to see if you see the user there? Run Startup Repair. Boot Into Windows Recovery Environment.Press and hold the Shift key, and restart Computer. Next, under Choose an option, click on Troubleshoot. Next, click on Advanced options. Click on Startup Repair. Now it will start to diagnose your PC to find issues with the start-up. Next, select a user account and enter the password. Click Continue to begin Startup repair. This process may take some time, so wait till it is complete. Let me know the result. 0 comments No comments Report Thank you for the update. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. I can't enter Windows at all, so I'm unable to do what you said here: *1. Open your PC in safe mode by using the steps in Method 1 above.2. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter to open Windows Services.3. On the Windows Services page, navigate to User Profile Service and right-click.4. On the resulting drop-down menu, click on "Restart".5. Also, on the drop-down menu, tap on "Properties" and make sure the Startup type is set to Automatic.*I'll explain what I see below. When I turn on the computer, I see the following screen: I click anywhere on the screen, and then I see this: Then I click "Sign in" button, but it takes me back to the previous screen. I don't know what to do. Everything is the same even in Safe mode (meaning I can't enter Windows at all). I tried to create a new user via Command Prompt in Troubleshoot menu using "net user USERNAME PASSWORD /add", but I got the message that says something like: "New user was created, but was not added to the local Users list". Is there any other suggestion? 0 comments No comments Report
