Copy article link K-pop boy band BTS returns to Toronto this weekend for back-to-back shows at Rogers Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 22 and Sunday, Aug. 23 — the South Korean group’s first performances in the city together since a 2015 gig at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. Here’s everything fans need to know before heading to the show, from last-minute ticket prices to how to get to and from the venue this weekend. BTS’ World Tour Arirang kicked off back in April in Goyang, South Korea, and has since made stops in Japan, the United States, Mexico, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Seats for their Toronto shows on Ticketmaster have already completely sold out for both nights. Fortunately, resale ticketing platform StubHub still has a number of seats available; however, it’ll cost you a pretty penny. The cheapest listed resale seat for the first night is currently going for $706, with tickets going as high as $2,164 for the front row. For the second night , the current cheapest seat is listed for $652, with seat prices going as high as $7,535. If you’re comfortable with spending in that price range already, a VIP Soundcheck Package is available for slightly cheaper at $3,004. While Ticketmaster seats are currently sold out, fans are encouraged to check back closer to or on the day of the show, as additional seats may become available. What should fans know before entering Rogers Stadium? Doors and the Fan Plaza typically open between two and four hours before the show, while general gate entry begins around 4 p.m. With Rogers Stadium being a rain-or-shine event venue, it’s important to plan ahead and dress accordingly should the weather take an unexpected turn. A useful tool to have handy before your arrival is the Rogers Stadium app, which is a one-stop platform for everything you need, including access to your tickets, real-time updates, maps, food and drink options, pre- and post-show events and guest services, among other options. With tour merchandise expected to be a hot commodity, it’s important to note that Rogers Stadium prohibits overnight queuing and strongly advises against standing in lines for prolonged periods of time. This is also important to keep in mind when it comes to those with tickets to general admission areas, as fans who come early will not be guaranteed a spot closer to the stage. If you’re looking to get early access to merch, outdoor booths typically become available outside of Gate 1 between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the day of each show. Fans are permitted to bring empty, plastic, reusable water bottles or hydration packs that can be filled up at one of the free refill stations that can be found throughout the Fan Plaza. Other permitted items at Rogers Stadium include hand fans, binoculars, non-professional cameras, prescription medicine in its original and unexpired container, portable battery packs and sunscreen. Prohibited items at the venue include outside alcohol, banners, chairs, fireworks, glowsticks, laptops, large umbrellas and selfie sticks. How to get to Rogers Stadium For those travelling by transit, the closest and most convenient TTC subway stations are Downsview Park Station, Sheppard West Station and Wilson Station — all of which are within walking distance to the gates of the venue. To get to these stations, take Line 1 Yonge-University, which can also be accessed by the new Line 5 Eglinton and Line 6 Finch West. Free TTC shuttle service is provided on a continuous loop and runs between Wilson and Rogers Stadium, with fans with accessibility needs being prioritized for shuttle access. The shuttle runs from 30 minutes before the Fan Plaza opens until one hour after the show ends. If travelling by GO Transit, the nearest station is Downsview Park Station, which is less than a one-kilometre walk from Gate 1. To get home, exit Gate 1 if you’re accessing Downsview Park, Gate 2 for Sheppard West and Gate 3 for Wilson. Downsview Park is known to be the busiest for exiting, so be prepared to wait in longer queues if choosing this exit option. For GO Transit riders, Union Station is one stop south of Downsview Park GO station, and the last train will depart at 11:55 p.m. Live Nation Canada is sponsoring TTC rides home from Downsview Park, Sheppard West and Wilson stations on Line 1 Yonge-University after each show. Concertgoers need to show their concert ticket to TTC staff to access the complimentary ride.
