A Firm Commitment Our Pro Bono Initiative formalizes the firm’s deep commitment to pro bono legal services. In 2023, nearly 400 of our attorneys contributed 6,313 collective hours of pro bono legal services to the legal community, and in 2024 the firm was recognized as a Beacon of Justice honoree by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association for our civil and human rights pro bono work. At the core of our Pro Bono Initiative is the belief that the firm and our attorneys play a unique role in ensuring equal access to the justice system on behalf of the disadvantaged and charitable organizations that serve the indigent. Not only does pro bono work provide a valuable public service, but it also dispenses invaluable training for our attorneys. Feeding America In 2024, Jackson Lewis announced our national partnership with Feeding America, the country's largest domestic hunger-relief organization. This collaboration reflects our firm's commitment to meaningful philanthropy and community engagement that aligns with our core values. Through a significant firm donation and planned volunteer initiatives at both local and national levels, we're supporting Feeding America's vital work. Their nationwide network of food banks, pantries, and meal programs improves access to nutritious food, expands economic security, and advocates for policies that address food insecurity across America. Read our press release Representative Matters How we get involved Jackson Lewis attorneys have successfully served indigent clients across the country in a wide variety of pro bono matters, including securing civil rights and access to housing; representing children, parents, and vulnerable adults in custody disputes; ensuring appropriate outreach efforts for veterans; and filing disability claims for disabled homeless veterans. In addition, we partner with our corporate clients to provide legal services and training on legal topics to public interest organizations.

Wounded Warrior Project We provide national pro bono assistance to the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit dedicated to helping veterans injured in combat since 9/11. We established a dedicated helpline and handle a variety of matters that help veterans resolve legal issues after returning from combat. Pro Bono Partnership Throughout the Connecticut, New Jersey and New York area, our attorneys have assisted a diverse group of Partnership not-for profit clients with their workplace compliance needs, whether through advice and counsel, training or preparing employee handbooks. We have been actively involved with the Partnership since 1998, when one of our Shareholders served on its Board, and are proud of our growing relationship across the tri-state region. Susan Komen for the Cure We provide national pro bono assistance on various types of labor and employment matters, including training and handbook reviews. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society We provide national coverage for the labor and employment law needs of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America We provide pro bono legal assistance on a wide variety of labor and employment matters to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.
