Food Events in Hampshire We love our food in Hampshire and we love celebrating it. We enjoy making food and drink an integral part of our many fun-filled events and activities across the county. To experience the best of what’s on in Hampshire, visit the Alresford Watercress Festival , held annually on the third Sunday in May. This features cookery demonstrations and tastings of the town’s famous crop, but it’s also a huge street party. Trout ‘n About is a thriving local food festival which takes place in the market town of Stockbridge on the first Sunday of August every year. The annual Lymington Seafood Festival is 3 days of glorious seafood, shopping and live music. Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market is recognised as one of the best in Europe. Taking place from end November – December, Winchester Cathedral's Christmas Market is renowned for its bustling atmosphere, stunning location and handpicked high quality exhibitors, which attracts visitors from around the world each year who come to shop at the pretty wooden chalets, situated within the historic grounds. Festivals in Hampshire For a joyful celebration of street theatre and lively entertainment, visit the Winchester Hat Fair (returning in 2027). Here you can watch performers of all kinds sing, dance, juggle and strut in return for a few coins in a hat. Get all your gardening inspiration at the annual BBC Gardeners' World Spring Fair , held in the beautiful setting of Beaulieu's gardens. Boomtown is one of Hampshire’s biggest festival. This 4-day festival takes place on the outskirts of the historic city of Winchester. More than just tractors and wellies, the agricultural shows of the New Forest & Hampshire County Show and the Romsey Agricultural and Horse Show have plenty of attractions for the family. With highlights such as showjumping, motorbike and pole climbing displays, funfairs, livestock competitions, food halls and flower shows, they provide an insight into country life and a fascinating fun day out. Dogstival is an exciting festival for dogs and dog lovers. With a stunning venue at Burley Park in the New Forest, there's plenty to do for dogs and their owners. Over the August bank holiday weekend, head to Sky Park Farm for their annual SkyFest , featuring live music, children's entertainment and admission to the deer farm experience. Situated on the stunning Southsea Seafront in the maritime city of Portsmouth, Victorious is a three-day music festival by the sea. The South Downs Show is a two day event including everything from awesome arena acts, entertaining attractions, dog shows, animal petting zoo, children's rides and fun zone, country life stalls, alpacas, beer tent and catering with live music. If you are a Jane Austen fan, the Regency Week Festival held in Alton and Chawton is a must visit in June. Theatre, Concerts, Performances and Comedy in Hampshire There’s plenty more to enjoy about what’s on in Hampshire, from theatre and all kinds of music to West End shows. The Great South Run in the historic seaside city of Portsmouth is a 10-mile flat, fast course along paved routes for the entire duration - which means it's perfect for setting a new personal best. The route will also take runners past some of Portsmouth's best scenery, including the Spinnaker Tower, Southsea Seafront and through Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (past Nelson's flagship HMS Victory).
