The TVS Apache RTX marks TVS's first serious attempt at the adventure motorcycle segment, going up directly against the KTM 250 Adventure. A freshly developed 299cc liquid-cooled single makes 36bhp and 28.5Nm through a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch, while a bi-directional quickshifter and ride-by-wire throttle bring genuine performance-bike tech into an ADV package. A steel trellis frame, 41mm USD forks and a 5-inch TFT with full navigation complete a genuinely ambitious debut for the brand. Lower kerb weight than 78% of adventure bikes TVS Apache RTX 300 Summary TVS has finally unveiled its first-ever adventure bike, the RTX 300. The concept of this bike was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Design-wise, TVS has done a good job. The RTX 300 is seen with a prominent semi-fairing with a tall windscreen, muscular fuel tank, and a sleek tail section with split seats. Meanwhile, the beak fender enhances the adventure styling. The motorcycle is expected to utilise a steel trellis frame and a separate sub-frame. Suspension duties will be handled by upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The TVS adventure bike will be powered by a 299cc, liquid-cooled RTX D4 engine that produces 35bhp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike will get a ride-by-wire throttle, multiple riding modes, and a traction control system. Other features likely to be offered could be LED lighting, switchable dual-channel ABS, and adjustable suspension as an optional extra. The road-biased version of the TVS Apache RTX 300 is expected to be launched in India in mid-2025. However, TVS is also working on an off-road variant with 21/17-inch spoke wheels, likely to follow later in 2025. Once launched, the Apache RTX 300 will rival the KTM 250 Adventure. For the RTX, TVS developed a bespoke steel Trellis frame, while also featuring 41mm USD forks, with 180mm of travel. The BTO variant also comes with adjustable front suspension. For the RTX, TVS have chosen to go for a more road-focused sport tourer design language, with a clear emphasis on functionality and aesthetics, over outright utilitarianism. The TVS Apache RTX features an advanced, 5-inch TFT instrument cluster that's been specially developed for the RTX range. The system also offers smartphone bluetooth connectivity, and basic navigation capabilities. The RTX features dual-channel ABS, as well as dual discs on both front and rear axles. In addition, the RTX also gets switchable traction control. The biggest talking point about the RTX before its launch was the prominent front fascia, which included a brand-new LED reflector headlight setup, with strong inspiration from larger, European touring motorcycles. While TVS claims the RTX will achieve an ARAI claimed mileage of between 32-35km/l, the major limiting factor for potential buyers will be the 12.5-liter fuel tank capacity, which is a tad small for touring. It looks big, purposeful and ready to explore, but it still carries that sporty Apache character. Once you get on the bike, it feels surprisingly comfortable and confidence-inspiring.What I really like is how versatile it feels. You can ride it through city traffic, open up on the highway, enjoy winding roads, and when the road gets rough, the bike doesn't feel out of place. The suspension and riding position give you that feeling of being ready for the next road, wherever it takes you.And then there's the engine. It feels smooth when you want to cruise, but twist the throttle, and there's enough punch to put a smile on your face. The different riding modes also make the experience more interesting because the bike feels adaptable to the kind of ride you're doing. For me, the best thing about the Apache RTX isn't just the numbers or the features. It's the feeling it gives you — that urge to take the long way home, find a new road and just keep riding.TVS has done something special here. Don't spend your money on this Shailendra Singh Rana This is a real review.Just 3 months of purchase and a rattling noise coming from all over; mileage not more than 25; only on highways it can give 28-29. Self-start has its own mood; at times it works, at most of the time, it doesn't; service people are clueless. parts always out of stock. Torque Meets Thrill My Apache RTX Story. Owning the TVS Apache RTX has been an exhilarating experience that blends performance, style, and practicality. The first thing that strikes you is its aggressive design language—sharp lines, muscular stance, and premium finishes that make it a true head‑turner on city roads. The LED lighting setup adds a modern touch, while the ergonomics ensure comfort even on longer rides.Performance is where the Apache RTX truly shines. The engine delivers crisp acceleration with a strong mid‑range, making overtaking effortless. The throttle response feels refined, and the gearbox shifts smoothly, adding to the overall riding confidence. Whether navigating traffic or stretching its legs on highways, the bike maintains stability and composure. The suspension setup strikes a fine balance between sporty stiffness and everyday comfort, absorbing bumps without compromising handling. Rating Parameters Design and styling Service experience Value for money Features and Technology About the Reviewer Ridden for (If Owned) Was this review helpful? GREAT Travel motorcycle at a budget Ridden 5000+ Kms, Engine: Ample amount of torque throughout the midrange, always feels swift and quick, no stalling or struggling despite the engine making most torque at 8k rpm. The engine can accelerate this bike pretty quickly, do not compare it with 390s but it is good enough. Suspension: I call it hybrid, it acts smooth and plush on bigger undulations on slow speeds, but as you speed up on tarmac, it becomes stiff, which is good cause it acts like a sportsbike. However, do not again think of it as an offroader, it can do, but the bulk on the tank causes it to be more of a tourer than an offroader Gearbox: A downside of this bike, it's not so smooth; the second gear miss is very often encountered. When cruising in 6 gear for a long time, when you downshift, the transition is gonna feel hard and almost stuck, but not for long. The rest of the gears are issue-free. Features: Everything works beautifully, cruise control, traction control, riding modes; however, I mostly ride in Tour Riding mode, which gives the steepest throttle map on this bike. Rain and Urban modes are lazy, maybe good when you just want to relax and look at surroundings. Fit and Finish: Very Good fit and finish, no complaints Design: It draws attention like crazy, everybody would look and ask about it, kids would often say hi and smile too, good feeling! Exhaust: Only thing I do not like about this motorcycle is how it sounds, it's not bassy like other apaches, it's something of a unique and distinguish note which is good in cold, but in summer, the engine clatter is all you hear, always annoying. Service: Yes, it isn't premium. Sometimes, the mechanics wouldn't know much about how things work, but my dealership has been very nice to me, so did the service centre. They fixed my small issues for free and with transparency. Maybe the service will improve over time. Overall ::: GREAT touring bike for what you pay, amazing capability and aesthetic.
