T2R2 and STAR Search: Service Discontinuation and Successor Systems
Since 2005, T2R2 (the Research Repository and Researcher Profile System) and STAR Search (the Researcher Information Search System) have supported the centralized collection, management, and dissemination of scholarly publications and other research outputs at Science Tokyo. Due to increasing maintenance costs associated with system aging and other factors, these systems will be discontinued as outlined below. Functions such as researcher information search will be provided through successor systems. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued use of these systems over the years. For Visitors ■Termination Schedule T2R2 August 20 (Thu), 2026:The search function on the T2R2 homepage will be discontinued. Please refer to Science Tokyo Research Informaition Database (STRDB) instead and full-text file deposits will be transferred to the Science Tokyo Repository . The individual pages for papers and other research outputs will remain available for the time being. STAR Search October 1 (Thu), 2026:The public STAR Search website will be discontinued. Please refer to Science Tokyo Research Informaition Database (STRDB) instead. For campus members ■Termination Schedule August 20 (Thu), 2026 Deposit of full-text files via T2R2 will be discontinued, and full-text file deposits will be transferred to the Science Tokyo Repository . The search function on the T2R2 homepage will be discontinued. However, individual pages for papers and other research outputs will remain available for the time being. Users will continue to be able to access and view these pages via direct links from external websites, as well as through search engines and CiNii Research. October 1 (Thu), 2026 T2R2 for internal users will be discontinued, and registration and updating of research outputs in T2R2 will end. Future services will be provided through the successor systems described below. The public STAR Search website will be discontinued. Please refer to Science Tokyo Research Information Database (STRDB) instead. March 31 (Wed), 2027 The STAR Search site for internal users will be discontinued. The export function for generating researchmap import files will also be terminated. ■Successor Systems Research Achievement Dissemination and Researcher Search Functions Since October 2025, the Science Tokyo Research Database (STRDB) has been in operation as the successor system for disseminating research achievements and providing researcher search functions for faculty members in the science and engineering fields. STRDB is integrated with researchmap and automatically imports research achievement data registered in researchmap for display to both internal and external users. Please keep your researchmap profile and publication records up to date. Full-Text Publication of Research Outputs Full-text files of journal articles and other research outputs will be published through JAIRO Cloud , a platform jointly operated by the National Institute of Informatics (NII) and the Japan Consortium for Open Access Repository (JPCOAR), which will serve as the platform for Science Tokyo's institutional repository. Going forward, full-text files will be made available through this repository system. Detail: Publishing Research Outputs in the Repository Ref. Measures for the Implementation of “National Policy on Promoting Open Access to Publicly Funded Scholarly Publications and Scientific Data” ■Migration of Research Achievements Registered in T2R2 Migration of Research Achievement Data (Publications, Career History, Awards, Research Projects, etc.) Researchers may migrate their research output data to researchmap by using the import-file export function available in STAR Search. Suggested Actions Based on Your Current Use of researchmap (Boxnote) Reference: Exporting CSV Files for "Import into researchmap" (Box) Researcher profile information, including educational background and employment history, can also be migrated using the same function. Migration of Full-Text Files For research achievements with publicly available full-text files, the library will migrate the files to the Science Tokyo Repository as outlined below. Doctoral Dissertations: Priority will be given to dissertations published in or after FY2013 (2013 academic year), when online publication became mandatory. Earlier dissertations will be migrated subsequently. Journal Articles and Other Scholarly Works: Among items with publicly available full-text files, migration will be carried out gradually, with priority given to more recently deposited items. Records containing only metadata, as well as records with non-public full-text files, will not be migrated.
