Russia ↔ Regional Compare Compare London, Paris, and Berlin, or Beijing, Tokyo, and Seoul, with Russia’s 11 time zones. Each row is a local day (midnight → midnight); the red marker is live local time. Offset tables convert against Moscow Time. Russia’s civil offsets are fixed year-round (no DST). The gap versus Europe changes only when the other side uses summer time. The Far East lines up more closely with Beijing, Tokyo, and Seoul than with Moscow. Russia ↔ Europe Europe ↔ Moscow live converter Live conversion vs Moscow Time (02:05 MSK). Positive hours = ahead of Moscow. Hour-by-Hour Conversion Grid: Moscow to London, Paris & Berlin Hour-by-hour conversion from Moscow Time. The first column is always Moscow; city names and UTC offsets are in the table headers. Asia ↔ Moscow live converter Live conversion vs Moscow Time (02:05 MSK). Positive hours = ahead of Moscow. Hour-by-Hour Conversion Grid: Moscow to Beijing, Tokyo & Seoul Hour-by-hour conversion from Moscow Time. The first column is always Moscow; city names and UTC offsets are in the table headers. Russia’s eleven time zones Russia uses eleven time zones, from Kaliningrad (UTC+2) on the Baltic coast to Kamchatka Time (UTC+12) in the far east, including Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Anadyr. The country stopped daylight saving time in 2014; offsets are fixed year-round. Moscow (MSK, UTC+3) serves as the national reference in news, rail timetables, and government announcements, but local wall time in Vladivostok is seven hours ahead of Moscow and eight hours ahead of Kaliningrad. That east–west span makes same-day coordination across Russia difficult. A 10:00 a.m. Moscow video call is 12:00 p.m. in Yekaterinburg (UTC+5, two hours ahead of Moscow), 2:00 p.m. in Novosibirsk (UTC+7, four hours ahead), and 5:00 p.m. in Vladivostok (UTC+10, seven hours ahead)—already late for a typical Far East office day. Conversely, a morning meet-up in Khabarovsk leaves European Russia in late evening or overnight. There is no single “Russian time” works for all parties at different time zones. Some parties will always have to attend the meeting outside the business hours. International callers often default to Moscow when booking with Russian partners in Siberia or the Pacific coast. A supplier in Irkutsk (UTC+8) listed only as “Russia” on a calendar invite may be five hours ahead of what a Moscow-centric offset implies. Train schedules on the Trans-Siberian route print departure times in local zone at each stop; A direct train ticket from Moscow to Vladivostok on the Trans-Siberian Railway covers 9,289 kilometers (5,772 miles), crosses 7 to 8 time zones, and takes about 6 to 7 days Kaliningrad (UTC+2), Moscow (UTC+3), Samara (UTC+4), Yekaterinburg (UTC+5), Omsk (UTC+6), Krasnoyarsk (UTC+7), Irkutsk (UTC+8), Yakutsk (UTC+9), Vladivostok (UTC+10), Magadan (UTC+11), and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (UTC+12, shared with Anadyr in Chukotka) each advance one hour east of the prior zone. Reforms in 2010 cut the map from eleven zones to nine; adjustments in 2014 restored eleven without shrinking the geographic span. Western Siberia oil and gas operations use Moscow time (MSK) for reports, creating a multi-hour mismatch with local field time Compare Russian cities against U.S. Eastern or Pacific slots with UTC to EST / UTC to PST (Moscow is fixed UTC+3), or read Russia’s time zones for visitors . For a shorter east–west contrast among large countries, see U.S. time zones . Several Russian regions at once: World Meeting Planner . Kaliningrad (UTC+2) to Kamchatka Time (UTC+12): ten hours of fixed clock difference across eleven zones, with no seasonal shift. Moscow (UTC+3) is the media default; Far East cities such as Vladivostok, Magadan, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (with Anadyr on the same UTC+12 offset) are seven to nine hours ahead. Same-day all-Russia meetings rarely suit every region without off-hours attendance. Russia Time Zones FAQ

How many time zones does Russia have? Russia has 11 time zones . This page shows a live clock for each one. From west to east, they are: A few coverage notes: Samara Time includes Astrakhan, Samara, Saratov, Udmurtia, and Ulyanovsk. Yakutsk Time covers central and western Sakha; Chita in Zabaykalsky Krai shares the same UTC+9 offset (IANA Asia/Chita ). Magadan Time covers Magadan Oblast; most of Sakhalin shares the same UTC+11 offset (IANA Asia/Sakhalin ). Kamchatka Time includes Kamchatka Krai and Chukotka. The map near the top of this page is a static color-coded image of Russia’s time zones. It is not an interactive or region-by-region boundary tool. Does Russia use Daylight Saving Time? No. Russia does not change clocks for DST today. The current fixed offsets on this page stay the same year-round. For many years before 2011, Russia did observe DST in the usual way: clocks sprang forward in spring and fell back in autumn. On March 27, 2011 , the country stopped falling back and stayed on permanent “summer” (daylight) offsets all year. That permanent summer setup did not last. On October 26, 2014 , Russia stopped DST again and moved to permanent standard time across today’s 11-zone layout (UTC+02:00 through UTC+12:00). Since then, Russian civil time has not sprung forward or fallen back with the seasons. Why does Russia have so many time zones? Russia is the world’s largest country by area and stretches from Kaliningrad in the west to Kamchatka and Chukotka in the east—eleven civil zones and about ten hours of wall-clock difference (UTC+02:00 to UTC+12:00). One national clock would put noon in the wrong part of the day for much of the country: when it is midday in Moscow, the Far East would still be in deep night or early morning by the sun. Multiple time zones keep local clocks closer to sunrise and sunset, which makes work, school, transport, and daily life more practical. Other large countries do the same for the same reason—including the United States, Canada, and Australia. How can I compare Russia with other countries? Use Russia ↔ Regional Compare above to line up European or Asian zones next to all eleven Russian zones. Offset tables on that board convert against Moscow Time. For any other city pairing, set your own base and compare list in the Time Zone Converter . For a written visitor overview, see Russia’s time zones for visitors . To place fixed Moscow time (UTC+3) against U.S. coasts, use UTC to EST or UTC to PST . The U.S. time zones page shows the mainland map, and the World Meeting Planner helps when you need several cities at once. Who sets Russia’s time zones? Russia’s time zones are set by federal law , not by astronomy agencies or local clocks. The main statute is Federal Law No. 107-FZ, “On the Calculation of Time” (June 3, 2011), which has been amended when the country changed DST rules or moved regions between zones. Under the current rules, which zones exist and which regions sit in each zone are written into that federal law. If a region wants to change zones, the common path is a joint proposal from its local legislature and executive, then a change to the federal law. Where does this page get its time data? The clocks and zone labels on this page follow the IANA Time Zone Database (from Europe/Kaliningrad and Europe/Moscow through Asia/Kamchatka ). Russia’s civil offsets are fixed year-round under federal law, so the live times here do not shift for Daylight Saving Time. For a broader overview, see Time in Russia (opens in new tab) .
