Is there anything more beautiful than CMC checkdowns? The man was the entire offense last year, and while that type of workload probably isn't in the cards for him this season, I think five receptions out of the backfield/slot is definitely in play tonight. Purdy simply loves his safety blanket, and he won't shy away from him in a neutral-site game in Australia. McCaffrey went over this number in 13 regular-season games last year; if Myles Garrett and that Rams defensive line pressure Purdy like we all know that unit can, expect McCaffrey to gobble up receptions all night.
Puka went over this number in nine games last season, reaching double-digit targets 10 times. If we see that type of volume again tonight, he should have no problem reaching the 100-yard milestone. Taking a step back, Nacua is averaging 95.3 receiving yards per game in the regular season - the best mark in NFL history. Against the 49ers, with a secondary that owned a 52.3 overall PFF grade in 2025 (third-lowest of any secondary in football), I'll ride with Nacua to put on a show in Melbourne.
The gap between Colston Loveland's TD market implied probability (32%) and his actual chance of scoring (fair around 40%) is a big Week 1 advantage for early bettors. Loveland averaged 66 yards per game after Week 8 last season while adding touchdowns in five of those games (six total). Wide receiver Rome Odunze (leg) suffered his injury last Thursday and didn't practice Tuesday, while Luther Burden has been out for about a month with a groin injury and is working his way back to practice this week. It's the perfect spot at the wrong price for Caleb Williams' favorite target over the second half of last season. Williams finished last year with the third-highest deep-throw rate, and Loveland, who doesn't drop balls and played 40% of his snaps in the slot or out wide, could take full advantage as the healthiest pass catcher on the roster.
The Panthers have a strong defensive line and a linebacker corps that is rebuilt with veteran star power. They should be able to control the Bears' run game and put pressure on Caleb Williams. The young quarterbacks on both sides could have long days.
I got this at +400, but there's room for it to move as high as +250 if the injury luck falls in his favor. Ja'Kobi Lane has been a standout all camp, and the third-round rookie found the end zone in the preseason. He could have a great opportunity to contribute Sunday indoors in a potential high-scoring game, with Zay Flowers and Devontez Walker limited at practice this week while Rashod Bateman has been dealing with potential charges stemming from June. The Baltimore offense will want to start with a bang under new head coach Jesse Minter and OC Declan Doyle, who have been working on getting Lamar Jackson back to his MVP ways in his age-30 season.
Lamar Jackson faces a blast from AFC North past when he and the Ravens take on the Colts and DC Lou Anarumo in Week 1. During his tenue with Cincinnati, Anarumo couldn’t slow down Jackson consistently and the Ravens QB chewed up his blitz-heavy schemes. Jackson recorded several multi-TD passing games versus those Bengals teams and constantly ranks out among the best QBs vs. blitz in the NFL. New Baltimore OC Declan Doyle got to work against two blitz-centric foes in joint practices this summer – Washington and Minnesota – ironing out the wrinkles against similar pressure before this Week 1 outing. I like Lamar to make Indy pay with two or more passing TDs.
I got this at +140, but if he has the goal-line role, this should be around +115/+120%. Jaylen Warren has been in Pittsburgh much longer than Rico Dowdle, but this is Mike McCarthy's guy, and Dowdle might be the early-down back, according to some Pittsburgh beat writers. This is an Atlanta defense that can be beaten early in the season, as the Falcons are missing some big names. Jalon Walker is out for the season, James Pearce Jr. is suspended, Billy Bowman and Za'Darius Smith are limited, and JD Bertrand is out. This gauged pass rush could create an extra trip or two to the red zone for the Steelers and Dowdle.
Bought at x3.7. Fair at x3.15. The Jaguars are trying to get Brian Thomas going after the disaster that was last season, and those moves might revive the burner. Thomas was useless over the middle under first-year offensive coach Liam Coen who is pushing him to the “X” receiver and using him more like the vertical threat he was in his rookie year. Travis Hunter is still not a major threat so last year’s setup with Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington will still be the norm for Thomas who has had a leadup to the season. Cleveland is obviously without Mykles Garrett, but this is still a great defense, however, it’s not a bad one to attack early as it will be learning a new scheme under first-year DC Mike Rutenberg who replaces Jim Schwartz after he bailed on the organization after not getting the HC job. If he looks good in Week 1, bettors will never see a payout like this all season.
The Cleveland Browns enter the year with massive questions on offense, with PFF rating them dead last in its offensive power rankings, though they remain solid on defense. With two solid defenses and Cleveland's atrocious offense, this promises to be one of the lowest-scoring games of Week 1. I like the Under at totals down to 38.5 points.
With former WR Mike Evans no longer on the team, I'm betting on Irving getting a bigger role in Tampa Bay's offense this season.
Baker Mayfield played through injury most of last season and he still ran for +16 yards in 10 games.
I bought this at 29.4% and have a fair price of 35%. Give me a 100-catch, 1,100-yard alpha receiver with competent quarterback play in a great offensive matchup at 33.3% or better every single time. The Titans are being priced like the Rams at this number. Either that, or the Jets' offense is being priced with Brady Cook under center. Wilson could see 40% of the targets on Sunday, and this price is simply too long.
The Titans defense is a work in progress and Saleh’s trying the plug the gaps with familiar faces, including five former members of Gang Green. New York also have caught a break with Tennessee’s top tackler LB Cedric Gray crashing his UTV and suffering a concussion. There’s plenty of tape on Saleh’s schemes lying around East Rutherford, which helps new offensive coordinator Frank Reich ready his gameplan. New York has promising players at the skill positions and an offensive line looking to build on a better second half of 2025. New York opened +3 back in the spring and offseason action has trimmed this down to +1.5. It would seem Robert Saleh isn’t the only one who believes in the Jets offense.
Detroit led the NFL in home scoring in each of the last two seasons, averaging 32.5 PPG last season and 34.9 PPG in 2024. The Lions now face a Saints defense with questions in the secondary and Cam Jordan’s absence up front. New Orleans allowed 31-plus points in road games against Seattle, Buffalo, and the Rams last season, putting Detroit in a strong position to clear this team total.
Here is another long shot that has my attention because of the possible heavy sets the Lions might run this year under new OC Drew Petzing. While in Arizona, he ran 2-TE sets at the sixth-highest rate in the league, and 3-TE sets at the highest rate. That playbook alone should get Brock Wright, who was already playing 35+ snaps last season, on the field more. Over the last two seasons, 15 of 33 passes inside the 5-yard line for Petzing's Cardinals went to a tight end. Ty Conklin is behind him on the depth chart, but he also just signed on September 1. The real bread and butter is the health of Sam LaPorta, who is dealing with a hip injury. He missed every preseason game and could be on a snap count early in the season after missing the second half of last year. Keep an eye on LaPorta's practice reps today, because Wright is lying in the weeds with a TE-heavy offense at a huge price. Just a half-unit here.
I bought this at -120 but have the fair price closer to -150. It's Week 1, and I want a layup to get on the board. I don't see many running backs as likely to score Sunday as David Montgomery. The Bills gave up a league-high 18 TDs to opposing running backs last year and are a worse unit this season after losing five starters and bringing in a new defensive scheme. The Texans were one of the worst teams near the goal line last season, and they'll make it a point to change that narrative this year with their new back. Montgomery should get the majority of the red-zone work, and Houston can flirt with four TDs.
The Texans were active in the offseason, bolstering their dog poo O-line and adding a steady rushing threat in David Montgomery. QB C.J. Stroud got the vote of confidence at QB (for at least one more year) and should improve given the better talent around him. For Buffalo, Josh Allen gets a true No. 1 receiver in D.J. Moore, who could show out in his Buffalo debut, as his career numbers spike when he plays indoors (I’ll be sniffing around his Week 1 props as well).
The Cardinals might be the biggest dogs of the week, but I can't pass up an RB1 who is likely to get the red-zone work at 35% or lower. The former Falcon was named the starter ahead of Jeremiyah Love, who is dealing with an ankle injury. It's an indoor game that could see some scoring, and despite being a 9-point dog, this is a price that's too tough to ignore. I was looking at the Chargers' tight end situation, as they're expected to run heavier sets, but the TE trio isn't exactly exciting. Bijan Robinson's backers know very well that Allgeier can find the end zone.
This is the best +EV touchdown per the projections at Covers. The fair probability is 32.3% vs. this 28.4%. This Vikings offense might have the best quarterback play it's had in a season, and Jordan Addison should see plenty of single coverage with the eyes on Justin Jefferson. The Packers' defense is another good unit to fade after it fell apart last year without Micah Parsons. The change at defensive coordinator adds another wrinkle to this Packers defense.
Murray has a good idea of the defense he’ll face in Week 1. He played it every day in practice for the past three years. Former Arizona coach Jonathan Gannon is the new defensive coordinator in Green Bay. On top of being able to find Jefferson and Jordan Addison for deep TD connections, Murray’s ability to make plays outside the pocket gives O’Connell a new twist inside the 20-yard line. He has excellent jump ball options in burly WR Jauan Jennings and TE T.J. Hockenson. Projections tick as high as 1.6 TD passes and isn’t here just to hand the ball off. I’d play his 2+ touchdowns as high as 48%.
With Brock Bowers expected to miss the opener, both passing attacks are short on reliable targets. Ashton Jeanty and De’Von Achane should be the focal points, setting up a run-heavy matchup that keeps the clock moving. Miami’s limited supporting cast raises concerns, while Las Vegas turns to Kirk Cousins after his disappointing Atlanta stint. There’s little reason to expect consistent scoring from either offense.
I bought this at 10.5x with a fair price of 7.5x. This one is all about the price, as 9.5% or 10.5x is simply far too much for a starting wide receiver on any team, let alone one facing the Dolphins. Jack Bech secured the No. 3 receiver spot behind Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor. He's projected for just a couple of catches and 23 yards, but this is the price of a WR5, a player likely to see 10-15 snaps, not someone who is likely to see 30+ like Tyler Lockett did a season ago. This is a long shot for a reason, but one that should be priced closer to 6.5x. If you want more action in this game, keep an eye on the Raiders' tight end usage, as Klint Kubiak used 12 personnel at the fifth-highest rate last year. Michael Mayer (7x for a TD) could see a bigger role.
I recommend Barkley to score to -130 because he's run all over Washington with 428 rushing yards and five touchdowns across a mere three games since joining the Eagles. Additionally, he had his best game of 2025 with a season-high 5.19 yards after contact per attempt and PFF grade against the Commanders in Week 16. And, while the Washington defense is set to improve, it’s still a stop unit that ranked 28th in rush defense DVOA and allowed the fourth-highest rushing success rate in 2025. Finally, Philadelphia didn't bring in competition for Barkley's role over the offseason, and he garnered a 74% snap share with 33.8% of the touches and 48.3% of the carries inside the red zone last year.
This is the highest-rated touchdown at this probability, according to Covers' new Anytime Touchdown Value Index. Just another tool to help you sort through the noise, get to your pick a lot quicker, and give you back your time. There isn't a category across the many inputs where Dallas Goedert isn't showing value. I know matching last year's 11 TDs will be tough, but the matchup, scoring environment, red-zone role, role certainty, and relative price are all pointing to a buy in Week 1. He scores an 80 on the CATVI. It could be a better passing offense, with more looks under center for Jalen Hurts, while the loss of A.J. Brown opens up more targets for the tight end.
The new tight end could become the No. 2 option in a passing game that has plenty of upside in the opener. Isaiah Likely signed a three-year deal, so the G-Men are committed, while Malik Nabers obviously comes with some health concerns. There are also reports that Jaxson Dart and Likely have created a solid bond throughout camp and the preseason. Getting a No. 2 option in the passing game comes at a price of around 30%, especially in a neutral, high-total game. I'm buying the Dart/Likely juice.
Dallas and New York went a combined 26-8 to the first-half Over last season, with the Cowboys an absurd 16-1. Dallas led the NFL in first-half scoring while allowing the second most first-half points, averaging 31.9 combined points before halftime. There’s plenty of firepower here to pick up where that scoring frenzy left off vs defenses who could need some time to find their footing.
Six straight Broncos–Chiefs meetings have gone Under, averaging just 33.7 combined points, with five failing to reach 40. The rosters have changed, but this opener offers fresh reasons to expect another grind. Mahomes and Nix are each returning from major injuries against defenses that finished in the top five in points allowed last season. That’s a tough setup for either offense to come out firing.
Expect the Broncos to test Mahomes’ mobility with their vaunted pass rush. Denver is a Top 5 stop unit, anchored in pressure. The last thing defensive coordinator Vance Joseph wants is to allow Mahomes to get comfortable in his return. An ailing offensive line could compound things for Kansas City. Guard Trey Smith has been limited by a hip injury all summer and admitted he’s not 100% heading into the opener. On the other side of the line, tackle Josh Simmons could sit Week 1 due to a back injury. Sprinkle in the possibility of slick field conditions, with thunderstorms around Arrowhead on Monday, and Denver will dampen Mahomes’ miraculous return to action.

For every matchup in an NFL season, our NFL computer produces selections for a variety of different betting angles. Our computer picks are based on a proprietary algorithm that values each team in the current week to produce moneyline, spread, and point total selections.
The table above, below the game picks, tracks our NFL computer's results over the last 100 games, outlining the record and profit for selections, based on $100 unit size. We track the profit based on both opening and closing lines for every matchup.
How to Use NFL Computer Picks
The easiest way to utilize our computer picks is to simply follow our selections for every matchup, what you'd call ailing the computer." But there are other ways to utilize our NFL computer picks, as well.
You can use our NFL computer as a jumping-off point to do more research into specific lines, cross-referencing with expert picks, which can be found above the selections for some matchups, recent NFL betting trends , and more.
As well, you can gauge the confidence of the matchup. The larger the projected score, the more confident the computer is in a specific pick.
Or, if you want to implement a system, betting only on underdogs, for example, you can look for matchups in which our computer likes the underdog to inform which picks you're going to hone in on for a given week.
We have these computer picks for every sport you're looking to wager on, as well:

NFL moneyline picks are the simplest way to get in on the NFL action. All you have to do is simply bet on which team you think will win the game.
For moneyline picks, the favorite is represented with a minus sign (-) in front of the odds, while the underdog has a plus (+). However, you don't get the same profit for picking an underdog compared to a favorite. If the favored team is -120, a $100 bet on them would pay out $80 in profit and $180 total, if they win the game. The underdog winning at +150 would pay out a $150 profit, $250 total.
We have a complete breakdown of how to read NFL moneyline odds for these NFL computer picks.
While moneyline picks are the simplest, picking NFL games against the spread is probably the most common wager for regular NFL bettors.
To bet an NFL spread, you wager on whether a team will win by a certain number of points or more or if they'll lose by fewer points than the spread. For example, if the spread is -6.5 for the New England Patriots, you would win the bet if they win the game by 7 points or more. Or if a team is +6.5, you're betting on if they'll win outright or lose by fewer than 6.5 points.
There is a correlation between moneyline odds and the spread, as books set these lines based on the same information.
You can read more about NFL spreads here .
Totals (Over/Under)
If you aren’t entirely sold on which NFL team will win or cover in an NFL game, you can still use our NFL computer picks to bet on the point total .
As opposed to taking a side, in total or Over/Under betting, you wager on whether both NFL teams will combine for a final score of more than (Over) or less than (Under) the total number of points set by oddsmakers.
The computer picks, and your handicapping of totals is more about how you think both teams will score points, not which team has the edge to win.
