Malayan Banking Bhd is a financial-services group with a mostly regional presence in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Maybank provides a comprehensive range of financial services under three key reporting segments, including community financial services, global banking, and insurance. The majority of its profit activities are in consumer, corporate, investment, transaction, retail, and business banking for mostly small and midsize enterprises. Much of Maybank?s business model is leveraged to distribute banking products to its key target market of Islamic clients.
today good peformance
long term invest
It gives one of the best dividends so capitalise on it! I’m sure announcement coming anytime now!
The dompee donkey doesn't even have any all time high bank shares like public bank, ocbc, 32 yrs blunder on Jap yen ..all time low...lol
best dividends??!! same old figure nothing to brag about
Total short position 71.7m as at 24-8,but 73.7m as at 26-8, so continue short. EPF keep selling.....
EPF started selling from 14/7-20/8, about 70m shares, holding 13.134% to 12.554%.
With such high open position of shorts, if price hold till June next year, shortist will probably scramble to cover position by then....resulting a strong rebound probably to above 11.
The dividend for this stock is about 6%. it's very expensive to hold long short position.
31 sen, not bad
Only 5 cents of Maybank's 31-cent div is eligible for DRP. Since the value is so low, I'm taking the full amount in cash this round.
Shortists kena squeezed ??
Q2 sangat cantik! Siapa short, siapa rugi
Paying about 10,300 (net of coming dividend) for a future dividend of about 650 per year, quite a good investment.

The management was already targeting an eps of RM1 by 2025. This won't be achieved this year. However its share price has dropped to quite attractive level. 6 months ago, it went to as high as RM12.40 a share.
EPF 31sen dividend pun dont want, it wanted to trim to how many percent holding?

EPF only buy when it's high...and sell when it's low....haha All EPF managers bought on 1st April when shares was trading between 11.46 to 11.70 and closed 11.66

Maybank waiting for KLCI 30 to 50 overhang to clear...21st June 2027
We opine that near-term upside could be capped by a transitory index-rebalancing overhang following the confirmed KLCI expansion, which will be implemented in phases on 21 Dec 2026 and 21 Jun 2027. As detailed in our 8 Jul report, we estimate MAYBANK's KLCI weight could fall from c.13.2% to c.11.1%, potentially prompting passive fund outflows during the transition. Source: Hong Leong Investment Bank Research - 28 Aug 2026
EPF still selling selling.....
We believe sector valuations are likely to remain constrained by continued foreign fund outflows, uninspiring interim dividends declared, and portfolio repositioning ahead of the expanded FBM KLCI 50 benchmark in December 2026, which could result in lower weightings for several large-cap banks. Against this backdrop, we reiterate our HOLD calls on Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank, Hong Leong Bank, RHB Bank and AMMB. Source: TA Research - 3 Sep 2026
Short open position dropped by 14m shares yesterday....from 78m to 64m
Institution fund rebalancing, retail cautiously buying in view of cheap valuation compared to Singapore Banks and attractive dividend yield of +6%
When rebalancing of 50 to 30 is done with, and if it trades below 10 after ex 2 dividend, then the dividend yield will increase to about 7%.....no brainer for dividend investor and fixed income fund.
Hi stkoay..long time i x masuk i3 forum..great to read again your posts
excited to see DRP returned..but only 5sen..aiseh ha ha
Unless having lots of MBB, else better opt for 100% cash.

when are the ex-dates?
Maybank typically releases the formal Notice of Book Closure within 3 to 7 days after submitting their listing application to Bursa Malaysia, which places the announcement date around mid-September 2026.
Hi linges, welcome back. I also took a break after knowing the KLCI expansion 30 to 50 news in late March. Price now is much low than my exit price, so I am monitoring for good entry price :)
Nice. I didn’t follow the news and missed the KLCI news move to 50..good luck for your new entry price :)
Oil rises to $99 on report Iran launched second undisclosed attack on U.S. Navy ships
@linges, thanks. ....seems price has some what priced in the news as of now, holding quiet well at current level. ...compared to Singapore bank, this one is quiet cheap and offer a higher dividend yield, thus there's bargain hunting at current level even as there's still an "overhang" sentiment on the expansion exercise due till June 27. Foreign institution holdings has dropped from 22.46% at end February to 20.12% as at end July.
Brent crude rose above $99 a barrel on Wednesday, reaching its highest level in nearly seven weeks and approaching the key $100 threshold after Iran said it had struck two American vessels and eight oil tankers in the Gulf. The escalation heightened concerns over further disruptions to global oil supplies. Tehran also launched ballistic missiles toward Jordan and warned vessels in the Persian Gulf, urging tanker crews near Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports to “immediately abandon their vessels.” The latest attacks followed US strikes on five Iranian tankers near Kharg Island, the Islamic Republic’s main oil export hub. Elsewhere, Iran-backed Houthi militants targeted energy infrastructure in southern Saudi Arabia, including the 400,000-barrel-a-day Jazan refinery. Meanwhile, stronger Chinese oil demand is lifting prices for African, Canadian and Latin American crude as disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz push refiners to seek alternative supplies from more distant markets.

I had not applied for Maybank's drp shares before and won't be applying again this time.
At today's price, ex dividend will be around 10. With current dividend at about 65 sen, dividend yield will be 6.5%, better than ASM, ASB & EPF. KLCI expansion of 30 to 50 and geopolitical news give good entry price to dividend investors :)
If there are no major price adjustment due to portfolio realignment after December 21st, then can start to add kaw kaw :)
local funds keep selling, looks like will sell below 10.00 then only buy back....
if really want to hold long term, should wait below 10.
