Every factual claim on this site — a price, an opening time, a parking rate, a phone number — is checked against a source the venue itself controls before it is published. The date of that check appears on the page, next to the source. If we cannot verify something, we do not publish it. Our sourcing rules Official sources first. The venue’s own website, its published menu, its verified Google Business Profile, or a UAE government source such as Dubai Municipality, RTA or the Department of Economy and Tourism. No estimates. If a venue does not publish a price, the page says the price is not published rather than guessing a figure or copying one from an aggregator. Dated, not undated. Prices and hours in Dubai change often, especially around Ramadan and public holidays. Each page shows when its details were last confirmed, so you can judge how much to trust them. Corrections are visible. When a reader tells us something has changed, we re-check it against the source and update the verification date. We do not quietly edit a page and leave the old date in place. Nothing is pay-to-appear. No venue can buy a place on this site, a better position, or the removal of an inconvenient fact. Where a page carries an affiliate booking link or paid placement, it is labelled as such. Which sources we accept Not every published page counts as a source. We work down this order and stop at the first one that actually states the fact. Menu prices from a restaurant’s ordering channel Many Dubai restaurants publish no prices on their own website but do publish them on the delivery platform they operate through — Talabat, Deliveroo or Careem. Those listings are uploaded and priced by the restaurant itself, which makes them a first-party source in the same way a venue’s Fever ticket page or SevenRooms booking page is. Where a restaurant publishes no prices anywhere else, we use them, under three conditions that appear on the page itself: The channel is named. The page says which platform the prices came from and on what date, in the same place it would name the restaurant’s own menu PDF. The delivery caveat is stated. Prices on a delivery platform are sometimes higher than the same dish in the dining room, and platform fees sit on top. We say so rather than implying the figure is what you will be charged at the table. The venue’s own menu wins the moment it exists. A delivery listing is a stand-in. When the restaurant publishes its own priced menu, or sends us one, it replaces the channel prices and the page is re-sourced. What this does not license: a price from a platform the restaurant does not operate through, a price from an aggregator or review site, or a price with no date on it. Those remain excluded, and the difference matters — a restaurant sets its own delivery prices, while an aggregator copies figures it never had. The reseller rule matters more than it sounds. A reseller’s price is its own price, not the venue’s, and it goes stale independently. Two pages on this site were found in September 2026 publishing reseller prices while implying they came from the operator’s official booking platform. Both were corrected and both are on the corrections log . When a source says nothing If a venue does not publish its opening hours, its ticket price or its parking rate, this site says that the venue does not publish it. We do not substitute a figure from somewhere else and we do not infer one. An absence is information too: it tells you to call ahead rather than turn up expecting a published rate. The same applies to entry being free. Unless the operator states that entry is free, the page says no admission fee is published — which is a different claim, and the only one we can stand behind.

When an operator contradicts itself Several venues in Dubai publish two different answers on their own website: different closing times on the homepage and the FAQ, a season described as year-round on one page and seasonal on another, two different phone numbers. Where that happens, this site publishes both statements with the page each came from, and where one is safer to plan around it says which and why. It does not pick one silently, because a reader who arrives at a locked door is not helped by our having sounded confident. Transcribing a rule is not giving advice A large part of this site now quotes law: alcohol, dress, photography, drones, driving, customs, medication, smoking, visa fees, hotel taxes. The distinction that governs all of it is simple. We transcribe what an authority has published — the instrument, the article, the figure, the date — and we say plainly where an authority publishes nothing, contradicts itself, or is quoting something that has been repealed. We give no advice about what you should do. Those pages carry a note at the foot saying so in their own terms, because the distinction matters most on exactly the pages where a reader is most tempted to treat a transcription as a ruling. Three rules follow from it, and they are the ones that took the most work to apply: Check what instrument a claim cites. A great deal of Dubai legal writing still quotes the 1987 penal code or the 2012 cybercrime law, both repealed on 2 January 2022. Where we found that, we say which instrument is current and which is not. Where two authorities disagree, print both. Not the more convenient one, not an average. Two federal bodies publish different overstay fines; three publish different country lists for driving licence recognition; two publish different income thresholds for the same visa. Every one of those appears here as a pair, attributed. Where the English text is defective, quote the defect. An official translation that reads “10:00 am to 12:00 pm” for shisha café hours is quoted exactly as printed, flagged as impossible on its face, with a note that the Arabic prevails and that we have not read it. We do not quietly correct a government document on a reader’s behalf. What we do not cover We do not rank hospitals, clinics or professional services, and we do not tell you which doctor, lawyer or insurer to use. We publish no star ratings, no scores and no “best of” rankings of any kind, and no itineraries: a quality ranking and a recommended plan are both opinions dressed as facts, and this site is not in the opinion business. Ordering a table by a published number is a different thing, and we do it. Several comparison pages sort venues by the operator’s own price, and a few carry a column we worked out ourselves from published figures — a median main course, a break-even visit count, VAT added to a pre-VAT price. Every one of those columns says on the page that the arithmetic is ours and shows the published figures it was done on. That is the only circumstance in which a number on this site is not something an operator or an authority printed: it is derived in the open, from figures you can check, and it never replaces the published figure beside it. We publish no crowd predictions, no “best time to visit”, and no estimate of how busy anywhere will be — no operator publishes that, so neither do we. Photographs: our own or none Almost every page on this site has no photograph, and that is a decision rather than an omission. A stock image or a picture lifted from somewhere else would imply the person writing stood there, and the implication is the part that would be dishonest. Every figure on this site is transcribed from what an operator or an authority published, and a picture is the one element that cannot be transcribed. The exceptions are the {len(B.PHOTOS)} photographs the editor took himself, on his own visits to Dubai. Each one says so in its caption, names him, and gives the date once it is known. They are evidence that he has stood in front of the thing the page describes; they are not the source of any price, opening time or rule on that page, which still comes from the operator and still carries its own date. Where there is no such photograph there will be no photograph at all — no press image, no licensed stock, no picture of a place we have not been. The panels at the top of every other page are generated geometry — a gradient and a lattice drawn in code. They are marked as decorative so a screen reader does not announce them as an image, and they are not pictures of anything. Where the map coordinates come from Venue pages carry latitude and longitude in their structured data, for the benefit of maps and assistants. Those coordinates are not the operator’s: they come from OpenStreetMap , whose data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database Licence. They are never printed as text on the page, and we only carry one where OpenStreetMap holds a record whose own name and district match the venue we are describing. Where it does not — which is most restaurants inside a mall, because individual mall units are rarely mapped — the page carries no coordinate at all rather than the mall’s. The address the operator publishes is the authoritative location on every page; the coordinate is a convenience layered beside it. Report an error If a price or an opening time on this site is wrong, tell us and we will re-check it against the source. Use the contact page and include the page address. Corrections are the fastest way this site gets better.
