Schedule Changes Delayed or Canceled Flights Redeem eCredits Frequently Asked Questions Tickets purchased directly from Delta, including Basic Business, Delta Premium Select Basic, Delta First Basic, Delta Comfort Basic and Delta Main Basic fares, are included in our 24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation policy. This means you have up to 24 hours after booking to cancel your ticket for any reason and receive a full refund with no change or cancellation fees. After expiration of the Risk-Free Cancellation period, Delta Basic tickets purchased for travel originating in the United States and Canada remain non-refundable. However, you may change for a fee or cancel your ticket to receive an eCredit minus a cancellation fee* and apply the remaining value toward a future Delta ticket. Delta Basic Award Tickets are also non-refundable; you may change or cancel for a fee assessed in miles, which is deducted from the value of your ticket, and the remaining mileage balance will be redeposited into your SkyMiles account. *Cancellation fee amount depends on your point of origin and type of ticket. If you're not satisfied with your rebooked flight, you can: search for alternative flight options in the Fly Delta app or My Trips , or cancel the rebooked flight and receive a refund of the unflown portion of your ticket and any pre-paid seat upgrade or Preferred Seat (and checked bag fees), or an eCredit valid for 5 years from issuance If none of these actions are taken within 24 hours, we’ll automatically issue a refund back to your original form of payment. *For tickets issued before October 28, 2024, with travel departing on or after October 28, 2024, if your originally scheduled departure or arrival time was impacted by a significant schedule change or significant delay of more than 120 minutes, you are eligible to cancel your ticket and receive a refund.
