Thank you for your understanding. RubySpark Posts: 12 Forumite 29 January 2021 at 9:22PM Hi, I have used them about 4 times in the last couple of years, usually when they have a special offer on. Recently, used them just this week, in order to declutter items, which I’d otherwise would have donated to charity shops, if they were open. They arranged for Parcel Force to collect my package from my doorstep and emailed when the box was received in their warehouse. I got an offer today and accepted it. I had a minimum amount in my head, so when they offered approximately that amount, I took their offer. I asked for a bank transfer, which is quicker than the cheque option. You can also reject their offers and they will send everything back to you by freepost. I reckon you could do much better elsewhere with fine jewellery and antique items, but if you’re decluttering, then it’s convenient for other items. I sent in an old Polaroid camera and some old camera accessories (originally bought on eBay years ago but no longer needed. I researched these online and they were not worth much). Also, some tarnished EPNS spoons and broken silver jewellery, and costume jewellery. Got offered £55, when I was hoping for £45-50. I know they will have factored in free postage & valuation services, and will still make a profit, but it’s convenient for me just now. I just don’t have the time to list on ebay, nor can I attract as many potential buyers as they do. Hope that helps. 3 isadora127 Posts: 35 Forumite 29 January 2021 at 10:46PM Thank you @RubySpark , your reply helps me enormously. Like yourself, I have a lot of stuff to declutter, no special pieces of jewelry but it's too much for me to sort through and advertise on Ebay. I shall give them a go, thank you 0 KxMx Posts: 11,535 Forumite 29 January 2021 at 11:11PM I've just ordered a selling pack myself, a little costume jewellery, a digital camera and an old Kodak brownie box camera. I would have given these to a charity shop who also use Vintage Cash Cow, so the money will be donated to them. A convenient way to get rid of the items. 0 KxMx Posts: 11,535 Forumite 18 February 2021 at 10:45AM edited 18 February 2021 at 10:46AM Disappointed in my offer of a tenner as I was hoping for about £20. I was told most of it came from some of the jewellery which was apparently silver (news to me), and that the digital camera was a bit too modern for them- even though I did check with them beforehand and got the okay to send it. I added in some kitchen ware which looking at sold prices on eBay I definitely could have made more on those alone. Still, I got rid of the items in one go, raised a little money for charity and nothing will be wasted The whole process was very smooth, I too had Parcelforce collect and I was kept fully up to date by Vintage Cash Cow. 0 Savetowin Posts: 25 Forumite 19 February 2021 at 11:51AM How have you been coping with the shipping element, queues at post office etc? So I'm wondering if anyone has any recent experience of them please, good or bad? Hi there, I have used vintage cash cow and they quoted me £100 for various expensive silver jewellery items. When I put it in auction however I was given £350, with the rest of my larger more expensive items being placed in auction again. I think that vintage cash cow is for desperate people who will not receive a fair price on their items. I doubt also if they have proper valuers. Please put in your items at auction - you will be paying approximately 20pct of your money but it's still worth it. Plus watching your items go on sale is fun and exciting. 1 RedImp_2 Posts: 610 Forumite 31 October 2024 at 7:28PM rosiegem said: isadora127 said: I know there is a post on here about this company but the last entry was over 2 years ago. I sent them a parcel on 18/10/24 and was received by them on 21/10/24. I had not been contacted within the seven days so contacted them by phone and was informed my parcel had not been opened due to the volume of parcels in their warehouse.I asked that my parcel be returned unopened and the person I spoke confirmed it would be returned to me unopened and she would not VCC system NO OFFER MADE. I never received my parcel as promised , after much chasing two weeks later I received a parcel but the contents of that parcel were not my items ,they were someone else’s . Contacted VCC straight away to inform them I had received a box of items that were not mine. They asked me if I was certain.I informed them there was no doubt they were not mine.VCC booked a ParcelForce collection to return the parcel to them. However they could not tell me where my items were at that point. Long Story Short I have had to wait weeks for VCC to investigate the matter and have now been informed that they cannot locate my items and due to a system error and label mix up I was sent items that were not mine.VCC want to offer me £50 as compensation for my lost items which consisted of 5 Vintage Ladies Watches all in excellent condition. One it’s its original Box with all its papers ,one never worn. Plus a Vintage Anniversary Zippo Lighter in original box.An Olympus Trip Camera,A Vintage Silver Plated Christening Mug,A pair of Binoculars and a Vintage Necklace. The position at this time is they are not responding to my emails. I have today requested a Service Access Request (SAR) under The Data Protection Act 2018 from VCC and asked that it includes copies of all phone calls between VCC staff and myself. As my intentions are to take the matter further in an attempt to locate my items or receive compensation to reflect the true value of my lost/ stolen items. In my experience VCC are a complete disgrace with no morals and my advice is steer clear of them ,They no more than SCAMMERS. 1 Hammerpuss Posts: 2 Newbie 26 November 2024 at 9:30AM edited 26 November 2024 at 4:15PM Sent from my Galaxy -------- Original message -------- [Removed by Forum Team] I am posting this to help others not to be caught in this trap, The trap is called VINTAGE CASH COW which shall be known from now as VINTAGE CASH CON ------------------------------------------------------------------- As a honest person myself I do tend to trust others but now at 75 years old I am still learning not to. On the 16th of 10th 2024 I posted a box of valuables to CASH CON . Two days later I received an e mail telling me that my box had arrived and our valuers are chomping at the bit to peek inside. I was delighted and was eagerly waiting for a good result. I then spoke to a person by phone who told me the full box had been valued at £17.00. I just could not believe it as in my box was an antique green marble mantle clock which had been valued at £1,562.53 on Etsy. The other bits and pieces I know were not worth a lot but certainly more than £17.00. I of course refused the offer and asked that the box be sent back, it was a few days later but of course the valuable clock had gone missing. Like many other peoples valuable items I have read about in the CASH CON reviews. I have tried to contact them by email and phone, the emails are always the same; we are looking into it and will be in contact with you soon, the phone is simply not answered. Then I had an email from Nathanael weeks later telling me that the clock had been damaged and according to their contract it would be disposed of before somebody was injured. So it must have been damaged in transit by Parcel Force, I looked into this. Parcel Force would only deal with the people who paid the postage which was CASH CON and they said that it was a breakable item which was not covered in their contract with Parcel Force. Although they do have many clocks in the pictures in the catalogue of what they want some of these are Onex or marble antique clocks . So where am I now, I have lost the clock that was in the family for many years, I do not expect to ever get it back again, according to many emails these people are getting away with stealing hard working peoples valuables which have been in their families for many years. Only one persons review mentions the police should be told and these people arrested and jailed. I agree and I do hope that others here do so as well. I know that I will be speaking to the police in Leeds. For what good that will do I don’t know. But to help others I will try. I have asked for a photo of the damaged clock, and also have told them that I want the clock back damaged or not and I will pay the postage. I am still waiting for an answer. I think I will wait a long time. 1 Confirm your email address to Create Threads and Reply
