This document informs about the manner, extent and purpose for collecting, using and processing personal information by the provider of this service (see contact information). The legal framework for data protection may be found in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German "Bundesdatenschutzgesetz" (BDSG) and the German "Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz" (TDDDG). The provider is the responsible party for all concerns related to data protection. Please be aware that hardware and software involved in the use of this website may exhibit vulnerabilities, which is why complete protection against third-party access to transferred data cannot be ensured. We will not grant to any third party access to your personal information that is stored in our system, except when required by law.
You have the right to, at any time, withdraw your explicitly granted consent to the processing of personal data and object to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, market research and opinion surveys. Further, you have the right to have incorrect personal data corrected and to have your personal data deleted, where such claims are not barred by any legal obligation to retain this data. You can also request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. Additionally, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning yourself, which we process by automated means based on your consent, in a commonly used machine-readable format. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us (see contact information). If you think that we are violating your data protection rights, you can file a complaint with your competent supervisory authority.
Legal basis of data processing
The following applies to the processing of personal data, as described in this privacy policy, of users who use our service from within the European Economic Area (EEA): The legal basis for the storage of information on the user's device and its retrieval is consent pursuant to German law TDDDG § 25 para. 1. According to German law TDDDG § 25 para 2 No. 2, consent is not required if the storage of information or access to information already stored is absolutely necessary for the provider to provide a service expressly requested by the user. Which processing operations are classified as absolutely necessary and thus do not require consent can be found in the consent dialog. The legal basis for the downstream processing of personal data is derived from the GDPR: If we ask for your consent, then the legal basis for this processing is GDPR article 6(1)(a). Otherwise, we process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest (i.e. interest in the detection and correction of errors in our service, the optimization of the user-friendliness and performance of our service, the economic operation of our service and the protection against attacks, sabotage, manipulation, misappropriation and their legal prosecution) according to GDPR article 6(1)(f).
Server log files
For each access to our service, the following data is recorded in our server's log files:
your IP address
date and time of the access
URL of the page that you visit
HTTP status code
length of the response sent by the server
page that linked you to our site (referrer URL)
type and version of the browser you use
operating system used
You can minimize data transmitted by using a browser plugin for improved privacy. We require this data for the following purposes:
statistical evaluation (e.g. percentage of users by country, device type, browser or referrer URL)
optimization of our service and correcting mistakes (e.g. finding dead links or faulty scripts/configurations)
acting against attacks on our service or abuse of our service
IP addresses contained within the log files are anonymized after at most 7 days by removing the last 8 bits for IPv4 addresses and the last 80 bits for IPv6 addresses. The short-term storage of unshortened IP addresses serves solely the purpose of ensuring our system's security and integrity.
Logging of calculations and actions
We log failed calculations that you have entered into our calculator. We store the input, the options used, date and time as well as your IP address. We require this data for improving our calculator, detecting and correcting mistakes as well as acting against attacks on our service or abuse of our service. IP addresses contained within the log files are anonymized after at most 7 days by removing the last 8 bits for IPv4 addresses and the last 80 bits for IPv6 addresses. The short-term storage of unshortened IP addresses serves solely the purpose of ensuring our system's security and integrity. Further, we use Google Analytics (see separate section) to record all of your interactions with our service. The data collected this way is used to improve user experience.
Logging of JavaScript errors
We log errors that occur while executing JavaScript code while using our service. Logged data includes the location where the error took place (URL, line and column), the error message, information about your browser and your operating system, your input into forms (if relevant), date and time as well as your shortened and thereby anonymized IP address. We require this data for improving our service as well as detecting and correcting mistakes.
Links to external websites
Our service may contain links to external websites provided by third parties. When you open such a link, your browser will connect to the linked website in order to load and display it. During this process, data such as your IP address, information regarding your browser and the address of the page you're currently visiting (referrer URL) will be transmitted. The third party provider will be able to see that you reached his website by following a link from our service. We have no control over the collection or processing of personal data carried out by these third parties. For improved data protection, our server sends a special HTTP header that instructs your browser not to send the complete referrer URL, but only the protocol and the hostname (e.g. "https://www.example.org/" instead of "https://www.example.org/page-123"). Not all browsers support this. Special browser plugins may prevent your browser from sending the referrer URL altogether.
Our service may store cookies on your device. Cookies contain a small amount of information that is sent to the server with each request. They may be employed for reasons of user experience (e.g. storing log-in data in order to prevent having to log-in again for each visit). Further, they may enable statistical analysis of the use of our service and, based on that, improvements to the service. Third-party content that may be embedded in the service may also store cookies (e.g. videos, social media components or advertisements). You can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers provide an option that restricts or completely prevents the use of cookies. This may prevent our service from functioning as intended.
Our service offers you the opportunity to contact us, either by e-mail and/or by using a contact form. In such event, the information provided is stored for the purpose of enabling further communication with you.
Use of Google Analytics
We make use of Google Analytics in order to gain valuable insights into how users interact with our service, which can be used to identify possible improvements regarding performance and user experience. Google Analytics is a web analysis service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as "Google". For users from the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, 4, Ireland. Google Analytics employs cookies which facilitate an analysis of your use of our service. The information collected, such as time, place and frequency of your use of our service, any interactions with our service, as well as your IP address, is transmitted to Google's location in the US and stored there. The data will be deleted no later than 14 months after your last use of our service. Google truncates and thereby anonymizes your IP address before transferring it from member states of the European Union or signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Google uses the collected information to analyze your use of our service, to compile activity reports for us and to provide other services relating to the use of our service and internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where such third parties process this data on Google's behalf. Further information can be found at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://policies.google.com/privacy . Google offers a deactivation add-on for most current browsers that provides you with more control over what data Google can collect on websites you access. The add-on tells Google Analytics not to transmit any information about website visits to Google Analytics. However, the browser deactivation add-on offered by Google Analytics does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analysis services we may engage. You can find additional information on how to install the browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en . Alternatively, you can disable the future analysis of your use of our service by Google Analytics by clicking the link below. By clicking the link, an "opt-out hint" is set, which is comparable to a cookie. Please note that if you delete cookies or stored information in your browser, this may also delete the opt-out hint, in which case you have to set it again. Set opt-out hint for Google Analytics now!

Please note the following however: PayPal may also pass on your personal data to subcontractors or other affiliates, to the extent necessary for fulfilling the contractual obligations arising from your order or for processing personal data in your order. Depending on the payment type you pre-select in your PayPal account, which may include payment by invoice or direct debit, PayPal will transfer the personal data transferred to PayPal to credit agencies. The information transferred serves to identify you and to verify your creditworthiness with regard to the order you have placed. Please refer to PayPal's privacy policy for more information on the credit agencies PayPal transfers data to and which data is collected, processed, stored and passed on by PayPal.
