There's a bit of a learning curve if you come to this aftermarket 4K webcam from computers with built-in webcams, as I did being an iMac user with a built-in webcam. That said I bought the OBSBOT Tiny 3 webcam for three reasons... 1. I wanted a large sensor providing great low-light performance and improved image capability. 2. I required a 4K webcam with a reliable handsfree desktop view feature and tracking with whiteboard usage. 3. I was aware of reports of fewer system crashes than experienced with the similar Insta360 Link 2 Pro. I downloaded the Obsbot app and plugged it into my new upgraded Mac Mini, and right off the bat I knew this was something different. The video feed from the Tiny 3 camera was amazing. Mounting the webcam was initially somewhat problematic. The Tiny 3 was hard to set up as my new BenQ monitor is wider than the mount would allow, but some Velcro squares solved that problem and with some repositioning I was able to make a desktop look-down camera preset that works perfectly... and with the camera's zoom feature, I can get in as close as needed. The Tiny 3 camera is indeed tiny, making it easily transportable for mobile use, and is completely silent when in use, panning, tilting or zooming. The built-in microphone, with five audio capture parameters, is sufficiently capable to make unnecessary an aftermarket microphone in most use cases. I've only had the Obsbot Tiny 3 for a week... but having tested it extensively my best advice is to find the settings you prefer and about the only thing you might need to do, depending on those settings, is to increase or decrease is the "compensation" value depending if using near a window in daylight or at night with less light. I should mention the Tiny 3 gets hot while in use. Not warm, but hot... as does its primary competitor, the Link 2 Pro. While I haven't had any issues in testing during at least a dozen hour long video calls, I can't help but think a heat sink might be a good idea. Is the Obsbot Tiny 3 perfect? Nope, but its really, really good. Value for money? Hard to say. My needs required the capabilities of this particular model, but if I just wanted a non-tracking webcam with outstanding audio-video quality for family based Facetime or WhatsApp video calls, this webcam is waaay over the top. That said, I'd still stick with a webcam using an image sensor significantly larger than 1/2" - because that's where the bang for the buck video quality comes in... even on a marginally fast internet connection. No one knew, or cared – if you're just doing normal people stuff, these mics are totally adequate (in fact, far better than most). I mounted my camera on the bottom of my monitor "upside down" and it works fine – everything adjusted as it should. The OSBOT software is a bit meh, but it works. The camera has kicked on randomly a few times – unprompted – which is concerning. Not sure if that's an OBSBOT issue or backdoor CIA access??
