The Premier Online Military History Magazine We launched this site in 2012 to catalog the strange, offbeat and lesser-known aspects of military history — all the stuff that really fascinates us. Since then, we’ve published more than 500 articles from dozens of noted historians and authors, built a thriving community of 170,000 Twitter followers and have grown into a powerful influencer for all things military history. If you’d like to get in touch to offer some feedback, promote a book, app or event or suggest a story idea, please drop us a line: editor@militaryhistorynow.com . Thanks for reading! 31 thoughts on “ About MHN ” I’m looking forward to learning more on Canada’s unique history – I’m not a college professor, by a CPA, freelance writer and student of history, especially miltiary interested in the continuing impact on Indigenous Peoples from the European ‘conquest’ of countries like Canada, US, NZ and Australia.Otherwise I cover business, marketing, health, etc, so glad to connect with the like minded! Came across your site today; I like your main graphic photo..This is one of my favorite photos of WWII. In case you did not know details of it they are: The color photo was taken by Robert Capa while this B-17 group was in England before they moved to North Africa. It is of B-17 41-24361 of the 32nd BSquadron of the 301st Bombardment Group. This A/C flew its first mission to Muelte, France 10/02/1942. The Wabash Cannon Ball was piloted by Lt. Robert Blauw. The bombardier in the photo is Lt. Frederick Lopez. More information about this group can be found at: http://www.301bg.com and combat film footage on this group and others can be found at http://www.militarycinema.com Regards, Robert Reply Thanks for the note. I appreciate the information. Reply Know it all Reply Came across your site today; I like your main graphic photo..This is one of my favorite photos of WWII. Reply HI, wonder if you would post an article about women who fought for Irish independence? This is a great site and I look forward to your emails. But, here is my complaint. I access the site from a number of different platforms – computer, iPad, iPhone (damn, no wonder Apple is so rich!). This is no big deal, but I have contributed to the upkeep (money very well spent) but I keep getting the donate window which is somewhat annoying. I guess that you track IP addresses. If I make a donation from each platform will that shut-off the ad window? I do enjoy your site. If necessary I will make a donation from each platform and see if that works. Thanks, I hope you get rich on this site. Reply This is a great site and I look forward to your emails. But, here is my complaint. Military History has been a interest of mine since I was about 6 years old and hearing my Great Grandfather tell me about life in the Imperial German Army before and during WW 1. Hello Sir/Madam, I have been a longtime fan of MHN and its brilliant display of aviation history. I consider your site to be the “gold standard” of aviation warbird history. I’m reaching out because I recently published a website about the evolution of WWII fighter aircraft that would be a good fit:WW2F.ORG I often use your source as a starting point in my research of various items. Either way, keep up the awesome work Thanks Anthony Littlefield Reply Hello Sir/Madam, I have been a longtime fan of MHN and its brilliant display of aviation history. Good idea though. Thanks for your feedback.
